Why are you not allowing comments on the Mary-Lou article?

In your own comments policy you say…to facilitate open and transparent discussion on our stories, TheJournal.ie does not remove comments because we disagree with the sentiment or opinions being expressed….

If you’re a news source in a democratic country which generally allows comments surely in good conscious you can’t disallow comments on a political topic.

Some people do not like the truth ,I suppose all the truths about the bank accounts were buried for many years under the carpet by the ruling governments of the day, now it is a sin to speak out and let the people know what was ruling the country at the time and been supported to this day by their buddies of the golden circles still sitting around the cabinet table . Let the truth be spoken even if it too late to lock them up due to laws passed and things drawn out for 10 years . Ireland of the two Laws still lives .

Perhaps if you listened to the head of the Revenue today you would be in a position to make a comment that made sense. ALL documentation from the whistle blower has been gone through plus hundreds of thousands of documents from other sources so to say that truths about bank accounts were buried under the carpet for many years by the ruling government of the day is absolute rubbish. You, like a lot of people, assume that anybody who had an account in Guinness Mahon was guilty of not paying taxes is again absolute rubbish.

The real problem now is that SF are trying very hard to divert attention away from the sex abuse cases – if only McDonald was as quick to write the names of the sex abusers secreted away in the republic into the Dail record. The parents of children would like to know if their children were put at risk by having sex abusers in their neighbourhood and would be pretty sure it would be more important than knowing who had a bank bank account in Guinness Mahon
