Funeral of Jackie Healy-Rae to take place on Monday

The former Kerry South TD will lie in repose at Healy-Rae’s Bar in Kilgarvin today and tomorrow.

THE FUNERAL OF Jackie Healy Rae is due to take place this Monday in Kilgarvan.

The former Kerry South deputy passed away just after 1.30pm yesterday afternoon at Kerry General Hospital in Tralee. He was aged 83. It is believed he was suffering from a long-term illness.

Funeral 

Funeral arrangements for the late TD have been published on Rip.ie. It states:

The death has occurred of Jackie Healy-Rae, former T.D. and M.C.C., after a long illness, bravely borne, under the excellent care of Kerry General Hospital and Killarney Community Hospital.Beloved partner of Kathleen Cahill, her daughter Antoinette and granddaughter Katie, brother of the late Dan, his late stepbrother Paddy and his late stepsisters Molly, Nora and Sheila.

Very deeply regretted by his sons Danny, John, Denis and Michael, daughters Joan and Rosemary and their mother Julie, brothers Denny and Mick, sisters Hannie and Cathy, stepbrother Timmy and stepsister Peggy in England, his many beloved grandchildren, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law and a wide circle of friends and supporters.

Healy Rae will lie in repose at Healy-Rae’s Bar, Main Street in Kilgarvan today, with Rosary at 9pm and tomorrow from 4pm-8pm. The removal will follow to St. Patrick’s Church in Kilgarvan.

The funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

    When me mates son commited suicide years back he was worrying about costs of funeral and all that bet the state won’t let the Healy-Rae family put there hands in there own pockets only saying

    @tmwtbc not pointless to me these polititians claim to be people of the people but as usual when they get sick or die the state looks after them automatically .

    They say the way to heaven is paved with good intentions- with Jackie firmly enthroned at St. Peter’s side that road will be resurfaced, repaved and realigned by Jackie to ensure every Kerry person journey there is as smooth and pothole free as possible. As colourful and charismatic a character as Kerry ever produced.
