What was your favourite film of 2014?

Big screen flicks.

THIS WEEK, WE’RE asking you about your favourite stuff of 2014.

You’ve already told us about the best TV programmes, and albums of the past 12 months. Now, we want to know about your cinema trips.

HAS IT BEEN a great year for film, or you awaiting even better stuff in 2015?

That’s what we’ve been debating as we try to narrow down our favourite films of this year.

There was a strong Irish showing in 2014, with One Million Dubliners, Calvary and Frank all flying the green-white-and-gold in front of international audiences. But did they make the cut for you?

What was your favourite film of 2014?

To kick things off, here’s what had our reporters glued to the big screen this year:

Aoife Barry: One Million Dubliners/Frank/Boyhood

Paul Hosford: Boyhood/Guardians of the Galaxy

Christine Bohan: Map to the Stars/Mistaken for Strangers

Michael Freeman: Boyhood

Susan Daly: Unbreakable (Disclaimer: I know the director and subject but it did actually affect me the most)

Paul Fennessy: Leviathan

Steven O’Rourke: The Lego Movie

Amy O’Connor: Ida

Sean Farrell: Leviathan

Nicky Ryan: Wolf of Wall Street (though technically released last year)

Christina Finn: Gone Girl/Divergence

Sad to hear of this death, could be a domestic, as the news is sketchy. However still very sad RIP.
