Lucinda Creighton is set to announce a new political party today

She will be joined by four other Reform Alliance members.

FORMER FINE GAEL junior minister Lucinda Creighton is expected to announce the timeline for the establishment of a new political party today.

Creighton left Fine Gael in the aftermath of the vote on the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act. Along with four other TDs and two senators, she formed the Reform Alliance, but has held off on forming a party until now.

The party, which is expected to include two other former Fine Gael TDs – Billy Timmins and Terence Flanagan – and two senators – Paul Bradford and Fidelma Healy Eames.

Reports say that the party will have four principles around changes to the political system, a pro-enterprise stance, lower taxes and better debate on legislation.

It is unlikely that the two other Reform Alliance TDs – Peter Mathews and Denis Naughten – will join the party, but the public will be invited to join.

The announcement will be made at a Dublin hotel later today.

No. 1 – The headline basically says ‘normal weather expected’. I usually get annoyed with the ‘How is this news?’ crowd. But, really?

No. 2 – It says cold, then the article says it will be from 7-14 degrees.

So, where is all the Globull warming then? Do you know that Oisin Coughlan’s Irish branch of Friends of the Earth gets 400,000 euros of you money every year. For nothing in a country with such poverty.
