A VET WAS abandoned in the countryside in an effort to raise awareness about dumped dogs.
Olivia Kennedy from Northern Irish rescue dog organisation Lucy’s Trust filmed her journey, mimicking what she believes happens when an animal is dumped by their owner.
She was brought to an unknown location and abandoned, then wandered for a day in an effort to find her ‘owner’.
“We aim to try and highlight what it is really like to find yourself totally alone. not knowing where you are, or when you will eat again, or even where you can take refuge if the weather turns bad,” she said on Facebook.
She didn’t know when she would be picked up during her journey.
In a video, Olivia explained more:
The reason is there are so many dogs that are dumped year on year, day on day, week on week, across the UK and Ireland, and across the world and nobody really thinks about what goes on in their wee heads, what do they experience when they realise my owner’s gone and I’m here. There are no reasons to dump a dog.
“If we can make one person think twice before taking that lead off and driving way, then we’ve done our job,” she added.
She carried a Go Pro camera, and avoided people and cars, like a stray dog would. “I’m going to live the life of a stray dog for as long as [the cameraman] chooses” she says.
But at the end of the day, she said she knew she would be going home, unlike thousands of stray dogs.

He seemed like a nice lad when he was fighting, but good god – he’s an absolute melt when it comes to politics.
So he decides not to renew his membership, as opposed to the party actually taking a stance and removing him. Typical stuff, hurling from the ditch at everyone else but happy to have head the balls like this as councillors as long as they drag in a few votes. About time they sorted out their party membership if they’re ever going to be taken seriously as a government contender. Wasn’t there another one convicted of kidnapping and waterboarding someone over the sale of a motorbike? Lovely folk.
@OnlyHereForTheComments: Suppose you could say the same about the blueshirts.. Tanaiste under garda investigation. The fact the acting Minister for Justice stated Varadkar has done nothing wrong is at the least a conflict of interest and do you seriously believe FFG/ Greens should be considered a serious government.
@OnlyHereForTheComments: yes he was thrown out of the party well in advance of being convicted. He had claimed he was bullied out and was backed by many of the FFFG media and reps at the time.
