On Wednesday, it rained here in Bogotá for the first in three weeks. That helped to finally put out the forest fires that had been causing havoc. It was an incredible period of drought and heat for an often chilly and wet city. If it hadn’t finally rained, we’d probably be facing a similar disaster to Chile.

The people constantly warning society are scientific method modellers who make a living by attempting to apply experimental analogies directly to large-scale sciences. In this case, the conditions in a greenhouse (experiment) scale up to the Earth’s atmosphere  (universal qualities).

“Rule III. The qualities of bodies found to belong to all bodies within the reach of our experiments are esteemed the universal qualities of all bodies whatsoever.” Newton

I know all too well just how contrived the whole subculture is and that it is creating a severe disconnect with individual and their terrestrial and solar system surroundings. Identifying what went wrong gave rise to the awful scientific method modelling at the expense of astronomy.
