OVER TWO THOUSAND customers were left without power first thing this morning, following strong winds overnight.
Two weather warnings remain in effect until 9am today — an ‘orange alert’ warning applies for exposed western coasts, while there’s a less-serious ‘yellow’ alert in place in the rest of the country.
Around 1,800 households around Carrigaline in Cork were without electricity at 7am today, while there were also smaller groups of customers affected in Limerick, Galway and the north-east.
Meanwhile, motorists are being urged to keep an eye out for fallen trees and other debris on the roads.
All Irish Ferries ‘Swift’ sailings between Dublin and Holyhead have been cancelled for today. Passengers are being accommodated on the larger ‘Cruise’ craft instead.
There are some delays to take-offs at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

Doing ok up to today, but even the question has me totally confused. I cannot figure out what I am being asked! Maybe it’s just me….,
