The cycle lanes are lacklustre or non-existent. To cycle on the street is quite dangerous. A lot of people in cars’ anger is because of the ridiculous sums they need to pay to be on the road at all and they see cyclists swanning around, without the burden of debt to be on the road.
In other countries where cycle lanes are more developed, drivers attitudes towards cyclists are different as they aren’t really in the way.
There is a solution here.
