Planning a last-minute Super Bowl trip? Check out these awesome Airbnb rentals in Phoenix

Planning a trip to the biggest US sporting event of the year? No? … Like looking at pictures of fancy and/or unusual houses? Well, read on, then…

IT’S A MAJOR event, not just in the US sporting calendar, but worldwide.

Super Bowl viewing parties are being planned all over the country for next Sunday night.

If — by some strange stroke of luck — you happen to have a few grand to spare and are planning on making a last minute-trip to Phoenix for the game, don’t assume you’ll be able to get a hotel room.

Officials expect a whopping 100,000 fans to visit the area for the game, and average daily hotel rates have risen by 89 per cent.

Lots of Seahawks and Patriots fans are turning to Airbnb as an alternative. According to Airbnb data, nearly two and a half times as many people as usual are making reservations in the Phoenix area.

The earliest such reservations for Super Bowl weekend were made a year ago, in January 2014. But even if you didn’t plan that far ahead, there are still some amazing rentals available in the area…

Let’s be honest — statistically, it’s pretty unlikely any of us will be bedding down at these locations, come the weekend.

on a visit to Pennsylvania years back looking at the Amish I thought they must live really stress free lives but at one of the museums chatting to some of the Amish people themselves it was anything but. A lot of them struggle and have two or three jobs, often as labourers on building sites in cities and land is getting so expensive it’s hard for younger families to stay close to their communities
