Russian ex-spy may have been poisoned TWICE

The man was allegedly poisoned by a cup of tea laced with polonium-210 in 2006 and publicly accused Vladamir Putin of ordering his killing before he died three weeks later.

AN INQUIRY INTO the radiation poisoning of a former Russian spy opened today with claims that there may have been an earlier assassination bid in the most sensational espionage case since the Cold War.

Alexander Litvinenko was allegedly poisoned by a cup of tea laced with polonium-210 in a London hotel in 2006 and publicly accused President Vladimir Putin of ordering his killing before he died three weeks later.

Russia has rejected the accusations and refused to grant extradition for the two chief suspects named by British police — Andrei Lugovoi and Dmitri Kovtun — over the poisoning of Litvinenko on November 1 that year.

Inquiry lawyer Robin Tam said traces of radiation showed there may have been a previous poisoning when the three met in the offices of a London private security company, Erinys, two weeks earlier on October 16.

“One of the most significant things that the evidence suggests is that Litvinenko was poisoned with polonium not once but twice,” he told the inquiry at the Royal Courts of Justice, which was attended by Litvinenko’s widow Marina.

Tam also showed the inquiry diagrams of the Erinys boardroom showing heavy contamination on a section of the table and a chair, as well as on the spout of the teapot from which Litvinenko drank at the Mayfair hotel.

He said the heaviest contamination in the boardroom and the teapot was “off the scale” at in excess of 10,000 counts per second (cps).

Normal background radiation is around 0.5 cps.

Very impressed with RBB and Donnelly they deserve a chance as what else have we to lose with them, the others are just grab all for themselves parties telling lie after lie and shading the people the minute they get into power

What was glaringly obvious last night was, that the younger/newer parties are not governed by old established rules or adherence to the old way of politics,
Stephen Donnlley and Boyd Barrett were head and shoulders above the rest due to having no political baggage of historical importance, Gerry Adams came a slightly distant third with Michéal Martin close behind, Enda was his same calamitous self, especially with his weak attempts to put his hand up like he was in school – this from a who is supposed to be a leader?
Joan is gone, done and dusted – absolute carnage of a car crash job,
And poor lucinda never got into the swing of things properly, partly due to being on the periphery of the stage.
All in all it was a very bad night for the “old way” of doing politics in Ireland,
It looks like a new dawn of sorts awakens.

The clear winner was Claire Byrne. She did an outstanding job controlling the debate.
Donnelly is intelligent and logical but I wonder can he walk the walk. Unfortunately he will most likely be in opposition. Barrett is a populist speaker and some of his numbers do not add up. Martin is a strong debater but is seriously damaged goods as is Adams. Creighton did not show well and doesn’t seem suited to debating. Kenny seems calculated and factual but is also damaged goods from the number of broken promises over the past five years. Burton is just awful…unmannerly in the debate and Labour are just piggy backing on FG…change of leader needed in that party. They could be demolished in the election.
So, where does the next government come from?

It would be interesting if statistics were presented alongside the unemployment figures in terms of actual head count. Also, what regions have been most affected by emigration? (I.e. What if the reason for low youth unemployment is because most of the youth in the region have emigrated)

A fact is the so called leaders spent the evening ignoring the big ticket issues like climate change and foreign affairs (refugee crisis, EU etc)

None of them went into any details and basically repeated what was in or implied by their manifestos and the same soundbites they have been repeating for the last few months

There was no discussion on vision, ideology or even the logic behind their policies.

Spending the last segment discussing who will do business worth whom was a complete waste of time.

    I didn’t learn a single new thing.

Donnelly was the best speaker, Barrett came across better than usual. Joan was dreadful as was Gerry. Amazing that Adams managed to get through almost a full 2 hours without mentioning figures and any time he did he became a bag of nerves and didn’t know what the figures were. Yet some people would have you believe he performed well? The fact is he is holding his party back every time he is asked to go head to head with anyone.

The unemployment rates in the midlands I see are the worst in Ireland as of Q3 2015 and is a very close 2nd overall to the South East if you look back over the stats since 2011.

This is one massive reason for me for not voting FG or Labour back into power because and nothing wrong with these industry sectors but they can’t see beyond agriculture, tourisim and food as a path to job creation in rural Ireland 2016.

Governments don’t create jobs but they play a big part when they control how taxes are implemented and how grants are allocated. The new government must encourage non traditional rural based business models give it a go so they can inspire the next crop of talent into investing locally.

Verdict: True but you tried very hard
The facts: The government tried within its first 6 months of power to reduce disability allowance payments. This was cancelled after a video of Enda Kenny promising a disabled girl during campaigning that the disability allowance will never be cut. The government were embarrassed into backing down, hardly a bragging right Joan?

She bestrode the stage like a mythical colossus, dominating, nay domineering. It wasn’t her actual height (6′ 5”) either that made her stand out. The clear concise nature of her arguments were knock-out blows to her opponents. Indeed Martin & the two left-wing fellows visibly wilted in the bright shining light she produced with her arguments. And, at one stage, I thought Joan was melting such was the fierce heat that Lucinda’s philosophy was generating.

Enda was completely and utterly overwhelmed by her presence. He fiddled and he doodled and he fluffed his lines so badly that it was a great mercy that Lucinda took pity on him and began to direct her ire towards Jarry. She tore into him like a mad bull that had lost its way. Gerry aged visibly in these few minutes. His eyes sunk into his head, his knees bent, shook and wobbled, the hair on his head began to stand up with the electric atmosphere that Lucinda’s arguments were producing. So overwhelmed was Jarry that he was reduced to shadow of his former self.

All told this #leadersdebate will live long in the memory ONLY on account of Lucinda’s absolutely outstanding performance. She annihilated all and sundry. She was merciless when needed and merciful when required – just the very qualities Ireland needs in a Great leader in these terrible times. Long may she reign.

I better log-off now as I see Nursie approaching with the needle.

So I can say Labour is LIEBOUR now, all people have to do is see what has happened to themselves under this government to see the truth, many know someone who had to go to a doctor or to a hospital, knows what has happen to their own Gardaí station, sees what bills they have to pay, knows friends or family that had to immigrate, knows of a local ghost estate or houses, remembers the scaremongering and threats from this government, remembers at least one scandal this government survived… etc etc.
Then they think promises from this government will change all that, have they forgotten the 2011 promises already that were broke???
