90.1%: The percentage of Irish students who complete the Leaving Certificate, according to new figures.

32: The height in metres of the new wooden rollercoaster being built at Tayto Park in Meath (well, 32.05 metres, to be exact) which is due to open this summer.

€25: The cost of a new test which will help to spot Ireland’s second biggest cancer killer.

7: The number of times a week Buncrana’s one-screen cinema would have to show Fifty Shades of Grey to qualify for distribution rights. Tough break.

€2.75: The minimum price for a can of beer if the government caps alcohol prices at the proposed rate.

    If you can’t pull those off you are probably catatonic

    Basic skills:
    How to prep vegetables
    Making a sauce
    Cooking meat / fish using a pan/skillet, grill or oven

    Advanced skills:
    Stop using your eyes and use your mouth/nose instead – yes you need that much butter/oil/cream/wine/stock & no you haven’t put enough salt/pepper in for 10 people.

    It’s too early to use Christmas as an excuse for morning beers, it’s acceptable from Thursday on.
