Watch Eamon Ryan explain why the Greens would do a deal with anyone (including Sinn Féin)

Eamon Ryan spoke about his party’s ambitions ahead of the next general election.

THE GREEN PARTY wants “a team” in the Dáil after the next general election and is targeting between four and five seats, according to its leader Eamon Ryan.

The former minister told TheJournal.ie this week that the party, which had its national political presence wiped out in 2011, plans to run a candidate in every constituency with Ryan himself targeting a Dáil seat in Dublin Bay South.

As for what the Greens could do if they do manage a successful electoral comeback, Ryan is keeping all options open:

There will be more from our interview with Eamon Ryan on TheJournal.ie later this week.

To expand on your comment. They are not good for the environment either. I was at a debate on energy policy hosted by mep Marion Harkin in lucan before Xmas where Eamonn Ryan was completely exposed as having an extremely poor knowledge of a policy he is constantly backing in the media ( covering the country in masses of industrial wind turbines, pylons and high voltage power lines ). I had an electrical engineer on one side of me and a expert in environmental and planning law on the other and they basically made a fool of him. By the end of the debate (colm Mccarthy on the panel also), most of the crowd were just laughing at him..what a joke…A dangerous joke though. Don’t underestimate the damage these fools are capable of.

Their record in government is actually fairly good if you look at it objectively. There were a lot of loonies amongst their ranks though, i.e. the anti-fluoridation and anti-vaccination brigade. I’d consider them for a vote if they jettisoned that side of the party because in general their policies are fairly sound. They were unlucky to be in government for the bank guarantee and should have pulled the plug rather than go through with it. Then again, all the other parties except Labour were in favour of the guarantee so it’s a moot point.

Ryan and your lot get lost!

After paying my Car Tax for 40 yrs you and your loony greens and FF half wits passed a law forcing me to pay 951 Euro to tax my 10 yr old car while the wealthy who could afford NEW cars have to pay just 280 Euro per annum. The most obscene regressive tax law in the EU and far beyond. Even Turkey’s Car Tax Law requires lower car tax on older, less valuable cars, while new cars owners (wealthy) pay most. Its called a progressive tax system … those who can afford to, pay more!!!!!

Now it is revealed that I am not only paying for wealthy New Car owners to use Irish roads but also their Water Charges as part of the car tax revenue is now used to prop up Irish Water. Ireland a disgusting place to live!!!!
