Ballyfermot shooting: Gardaí release 40-year-old man from custody

The shooting of a man in his 30s, which was witnessed by his child, has been condemned by a local councillor as “totally unacceptable”.

A MAN WHO was being questioned by gardaí in connection with Friday night’s shooting in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin has been released without charge.

A man in his late 30s sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in the attack, which happened at Cleggan Road at around 8.40pm on Friday.

In a follow up operation, gardaí arrested a 40-year-old man in the Ballyfermot area.

He was released from Ballyfermot Garda Station last night, gardaí confirmed. A file on the case will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The man’s shooting, which was witnessed by his child, has been condemned locally.

“This is totally unacceptable. It also put the life of an innocent child at risk. I can only imagine the trauma that this will cause this child,” Sinn Féin councillor Daithí Doolan said.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01-6667200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Bashing farmers and Rural Ireland again…. This is a stunt by ABP and Kepak to pull the price they are paying farmers for their stock.

While the factory gets 3x times the profit at the other side of the gate when the carcass leaves in a refrigerated trailer.

@Luka Roche: There’s not enough beef processing companies in Ireland. It’s effectively a monopoly and needs to be investigated as such. They also treat their workers like dirt.

It’s a stunt by China also. Irish beef is the cleanest and amongst the most highly traced and inspected in the world. The Chinese will be buying dirt cheap hormone laden beef from some other part of Oceania or Asia instead.

Is cultured meat and indeed cultured dairy products the answer for those that want to eat meat and dairy? If these products were manufactured in a laboratory instead, would the result be healthier for humans, better animal welfare, and be much kinder on the environment?
