POLICE IN LONDON have released CCTV footage of a man they want to question in relation to a sexual assault of a six-year-old boy.
They believe the man in the video, seen wearing beige trousers, a checked shirt and a yellow patterned baseball cap, has an Irish accent and was drunk at the time of the incident.
The footage was taken near a community centre on the Grays Inn Road where the offence took place on 1 July 2014.
At about 1.40pm that day, the victim went to use the toilet facilities at the centre where he had been playing with a friend.
While there, he was approached by a man who sexually assaulted him before leaving the scene.
The boy returned to his mother and told her what happened. The manager called police and a staff member attempted to follow the suspect but lost him on the street.
Detectives failed to identify the suspect over the seven-month investigation and are now appealing to the public for its help.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 55 and 65, with a large stomach and dark chin-length hair with blond or light ends.
“This was a particularly upsetting sexual assault on a young boy by a complete stranger,” Detective Inspector Neil Rawlinson said today.
“Numerous inquiries have been ongoing since the incident took place in an attempt to trace the suspect, who we believe was heavily intoxicated.”
Rawlinson also praised the staff at the Calthorpe Project for their quick response to the attack. He also moved to reassure the public that these types of incidents are “extremely rare”.

I saw this on Crimewatch the other day. Every single week they are looking for at least 2 or 3 people on it with “Irish” accents in relation to crimes committed over here.
Its getting embarrassing now.

Half of them probably aren’t even Irish…. The English aren’t know for being great with accents.
Well I think that the confusion is when it comes to a certain group of people that originated in Ireland but have since settled in England, boss.
The other “Irish” related crime on the show this week was a guy who was pretending to be a police officer, calling up to an elderly persons house and going in to do a consultation with about preventing break ins. I could tell from the accent on the security recording that he was “Irish” but it was more like a Corkman trying to speak French.
Why wait till now after nearly a year? This is totally unacceptable & the police were too slowly. Hope the victim is ok after his ordeal.

The last line praising the staff for their quick reaction?! They lost him, they missed their opportunity to catch him by not acting quickly enough. I don’t get it unless they covering up incompetencies. Hope he is caught!
Years ago i was still in school, i was in the bus station jax in cork, i’d finished washing my hands and this foreign oldish fella next to me said something , i turned looked and he was holding out his hand to shake, so I do so warily , next thing his other hand dropped for a grope , well i gave him some clatter he dropped and I ran. Anyway the point is no one is safe from weirdo’s, I was a big physical 16 year old able to look after myself and he still tried something..
or the local Catholic Church

Are the London police sure it wasn’t a UK or Scottish accent as they intend to mix the irish up with the scots and UK northern island or is a Victimization of Irish republican Citizens only
