HERE KITTY, KITTY.
The United States’ National Park Service in Santa Monica recently released these rare photos of a 15-month-old female mountain lion cub, called P-33, feeding with her mother (P-19) and brother (P-32).
Cute names, aren’t they?
The images capture a rare glimpse of these majestic, large cats in their natural habitat doing what they do best: surviving.
WARNING: If you’re squeamish, then admire this cub photobombing the camera but don’t scroll down.
If you’re even the slightest bit curious what it’s like to live in the wild, then continue on.
These wild mountain lions live in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in southern California. The National Park Service has dispatched a number of motion-sensor-activated cameras throughout the region to observe mountain lions and other animals in the wild.
The mountain lion is the largest wildcat in North America and mainly dine on mammals like deer, squirrels, and beavers.
Here, the family has come across a freshly killed deer.
The collar on the male-cub is to help biologists track his location, but the device is designed to fall off of him as he matures into adulthood.
Occasionally, the cats take a minute away from their meal to check out the cameras watching them.
These carnivorous cats sit at the top of the food chain, but are threatened by habitat loss and hunted for their dangers they pose to livestock.

A lot of people will be happy, saying he’s evil etc, blah blah..but you can’t deny he was a great broadcaster. In his more “sane” years, he produced some compelling discussions and evidence, not only against democrats, but against the system in total. Ended up a right wing Trumper, but at one stage, was a good libertarian – got me started on podcasts. I hate having to say this, but yes, I’m a leftie; but always afraid of blowback

@Daniel Dunne: his ‘sane years’ ended when Reagan allowed the FCC to remove the need for balanced journalism back in the mid 80s. It was the only thing stopping him and his ilk from spouting whatever muck crossed their minds at the time. We are where we are with the tin foil hat brigade in no small part thanks to him. His positive contributions were far fewer than his benefit. Good riddance.

I don’t condone his words and conduct, but this is the ending of a human life. This is the one reality that connects us all as humans. We need to learn that a miss-spent life, or a life spent doing something we don’t personally agree with is still a human life first and last.
@Andy O’B: I’m not talking about celebrating or excusing anything about him. I don’t accept or approve of what he is most famous for. My point is that a life is extinguished. I once criticised Christopher Hitchens for appearing on Sean Hannity’s ‘show’ following the death of a famous American evangelist. Hitchens couldn’t make a simple statement of regret of the passing of a fellow human. Hitchen’s comments about how that man behaved during his life were accurate and warranted, but no matter…..it is still a human life.

As strongly as I disagree with Trump supporters (vehemently), I think they can conclude from a lot of the comments here that ‘Liberals’ lack some the much vaunted values. As I said, the passing or extinguishing of any human life is nothing to celebrate. Perhaps that’s too subtle for most people here.

Simply removing their parapet isn’t enough in some cases. Relief at the expiration of certain individuals does not equate to celebrating their demise. His presence on talk radio changed the political landscape in America. His void may result in even more radicalization of the population as it moves to digital platforms and no longer finds a home on radio. In fact his passing may bring about the closing of some small town MW stations where Limbaugh was the only profit making portion of their broadcasting.

Have to say, whenever I am in the USA, I love listening to conservative talk shows on the radio like Limbaugh, Hannity etc. Really entertaining listening to the crazy stuff they come out with. I remember being on a road trip in New England in the months before the 2016 election and it was amazing stuff listening to all the Trump Clinton rhetoric. Then you switch over to a liberal radio station and ended up being bored because they talked too much ‘sense’

No was not a fan but I used to listen to him when I lived in california in early 90 s,he was entertaining although off the wall , another great radio jock died a few years ago Don Imus now he was actually fun to listen to. Limbaugh left 500 million wife doin a jig some where.
Never listened to Rush, but I have listened on and off to Dennis Prager, Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, and they are all some of the most principled men in broadcasting. It wouldn’t matter whether this was the death or Rush or any other conservative host – the reaction from liberals would be exactly the same.
