DSPCA via DSPCA

Do you suspect there are puppy farms in your area?

The DSPCA wants to hear from you.

The DSPCA IS continuing its investigations into puppy farming in Ireland and pups being sold to illegally to Britain.

Today it has launched a special Puppy Farming Hotline Message Service and a confidential email address.

It’s also currently compiling a list of puppy farms and breeding establishments.

Brian Gillen, CEO of the DSPCA says “We are asking members of the public to report information to us about details of large scale dog breeding.

We are most interested in locations with twenty or more breeding bitches. All information will be dealt with the strictest of confidence.

The hotline is 01 4994727 while the e-mail is reportapuppyfarm@gmail.com.

About time this service has been set up, I think it should be available for smaller puppy farms too

Her eldest is a glue sniffer but the rest seem presentable.

That is no way to talk about your sister, nieces and jailbird of a nephew Glen. They can’t help being on the dole and sponging off the rest of us. Just because you think you have done well, your mother won’t have you around to share in the reinstated Xmas bonus dinner.

You’re always in bad form on a Thursday. Child support must be crippling the pay check.

Go to Donedeal and you’ll find every puppy farmer in the country and every idiot wanting to make a quick buck on the sale of pups regardless of the poor dog that’s been forced to breed litter after litter , then when pups don’t sell they’ll just dump them. Dog rescues do tremendous work with limited resources. I hope people report puppy farmers in their area , I know I will.

I’ve no problem with puppy farms if the animals are well treated and given to good home’s, it’s the dodgy lads in it for quick cash who will sell dogs to anyone, regardless if there going to use them for fighting or other abuse, lock these filthy chancers up

But no puppy farm cares where the pups end up. Or how the bitches are for that matter, thats the problem.

@trickytrixer don’t think there is any need for puppy farms!!! I think there is too many dogs/puppies ending up in shelters and it COULD increase the risk of people cruelly getting rid of them like what happened to that dog in Mayo in the article yesterday. I don’t know why people feel the need to do that to those poor dogs when they can bring them to a shelter.

http://www.thejournal.ie/election-candidates-2011/laois-offaly/john-boland/ Well worth putting this man’s name and the words puppy farm into google. Nothing underground about what he’s doing.

If they have registered under the dog breeding establishment there will be nothing done to them as they have paid the big money to the backward government to be allowed breed. They need to make sure to catch the ones that are not registered, but as per usual there is no manpower available for this. Its left up to your local dog warden and half the time they just sit in the office all day. I’ve seen it myself.
