Moveable feast - a round-up of Ireland's food market heroes

Burgers and burritos and hotdogs, oh my…

FOOD MARKETS ARE all the rage these days.

There’s nary a park or canal or bit of pavement anywhere that doesn’t have some stall or truck or the like setting up camp before your very eyes.

So in honour of that, we’ve rounded up our top 6 food market champions that will be showing up at the best markets, festivals and events  this summer.

Can't help you there, Will Giphy Giphy

1. La Rotisserie

Chicken on a spit. Need we say more?

Just a little – It’s Irish free-range chicken cooked with a French twist, with special offerings of Bavette steak sandwiches with Bordeaux shallots or Toulouse sausages at festivals.

Where can you find them? Here and Wednesdays in Spencer Dock (IFSC), Thursdays in Mespil road, Fridays in Stillorgan and Sundays in Marlay Park during the year as well as festivals during the summer.

Where can you find them? While they’ve been known to get out and about around the city, this little gem is currently parked in Smithfield, Dublin, every day o’ the week.

@Eric: Really? Well then there’s no need for forensic fire iinvestigators any more is there? You must be a real asset to the DFB with you psychic powers of deduction!

@liam whelan: not much deduction required when you live nearby and you see the mobs of skangers starting fires and attacking fire engines.

Hmmm.. a protected/listed building goes up in flames, suspiciously.
Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it “has to be knocked” and lo and behold shiny a new apartment block will miraculously take its place.
