I’m out of here after college anyway!
This place is in ruins and there’s no sign of any light at the end of the tunnel.

It worries me that Americans are now going to think we’re all massive IRA supporting gombeens when they see this interview! The Irish have a bad enough reputation in America as it is with J1 students going over every summer and thrashing their apartments!

Correct Tracy. If SF/IRA get ‘any’ sway here – I’m emigrating. Again…

Actually the Irish have a great reputation in America. Irish Americans are a very highly thought of voting block and politicians in America saw, and continue to see the importance of the GFA in moving Ireland both north and south onward and away from its troubled past. People in our own country however have no interest in moving away from our troubled past , in fact there is a large portion of our population who cant even move on from the civil war. Like him or loathe him Adams was one of the pivotal figures who helped bring about peace on this island. While imo he would serve SF better by moving aside and allowing the final evolution into a viable party fit to take part in a ruling coalition. Fg and their supporters seem to think that costant coverage of Irelands troubled past will be enough to keep them in power but for a lot of people their blinkered view of things has the opposite effect. Right now though they probably should be more afraid of their alienation of the regular paddy who is having a hard time making ends meet but is continually soaked with more bills ,more costs and no relief while fg and their crony bankers are flying high on the “recovery” again , increasing the wealth gap once again in Ireland with little thought for those left behind. These same bankers now becoming predatory with their property repossessions now they see profits to be made in a new property boom

Not really Fran. Went back to college to improve my life, decided that my future lies further afield. Ireland is broken and you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that. You keep up the good work though and happy easter!
