FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been killed on roads across the country since yesterday evening.
The four separate incidents happened in Mayo, Meath and two in Tyrone.
At around 2.30am, a woman in her 50s was killed in a single vehicle road accident in Cookstown in Co Tyrone.
An hour previous to that police arrested a man in Tyrone after a 50-year-old man died following a crash involving a lorry and a van.
Meanwhile, a man died after he was hit by a car in Meath at 1:30am.
He was pronounced dead at scene and a post mortem is due to be carried out.
Elsewhere, a man in Mayo was killed after the car he was driving hit a fence in Castlebar at around 7.30 yesterday evening. He was taken to Mayo General Hospital but died soon after.

I was driving in Meath yesterday and the behaviour of the drivers there and in Dublin was disgraceful. My own driving leaves a bit to be desired sometimes too. We need to be patient, slow down and leave room for the unexpected.

Absolute morons on the road.
They bully and tailgate.
Same in Clare. Went there over Easter and it seems like they don’t know the rule about an obstruction on the road. ie no over- taking bicycles or people if there is a car coming towards you. They have and expect the right of way!
Road rage and ridiculous risks are all I see on the road now! Some of these drivers shouldn’t be behind the wheel of a golf cart let alone a vehicle!
The whole country needs to develop a mature attitude towards driving and how to behave on the roads! Until that happens people will continue to needlessly die.
RIP to those people in the last 24 hours alone, to those who have died and to those who will die because we refuse to learn from mistakes.

Drove the length of the M50 yesterday. The amount of people on phones and texting was staggering. Time to forget points and consider removing license for a first offence when it comes to phones. Speeding too.
Fecksake, people. Slow down, take it easy cos those few seconds saved aren’t worth a thing if you’re dead, of if you’ve ploughed into someone to get there.

I just showed the headline to my 13 year old son and asked him what country he thought the article referred to and he said ‘Ireland’.

Even if you were the passenger how could you see all drivers who are one, or two lanes to your right blocked by a middle lane vehicle holding a phone with their right hand to their ear.
If what your saying is true doesn’t that mean that 80% of readers on here who use motorways use their mobiles while driving, or is it just the M50?
