This is how you can block calls on your smartphone

Don’t worry, we won’t judge.

SOMETIMES YOU WILL get unwanted phone calls from someone, whether it’s a telemarketer or just someone who won’t leave you alone for whatever reason.

Whatever the purpose, you can at least block certain numbers (or direct them to voicemail) from your phone so you’re not disturbed by them.

iOS

When you’re in the Phone app, go into recents (or contacts if you have the number saved) and hit the ‘info’ button at the end of the contact you want blocked. When you’re in settings, scroll down until you see ‘Block this Caller’.

Android

The problem with Android is since there are numerous versions of it out there, it means there won’t be the same level of consistency and even with the latest update rolling out, that may stay the same.

The closest thing you have to blocking calls on Lollipop is to forward a number to voicemail instead of blocking it outright.

To do this, you need to have the number saved into contacts. When that’s done, select it in contacts and go into the edit section. Hit the further options section at the top right-hand corner and tick the voicemail box.

Alternatively, you can download a third-party app like Call Blocker to prevent certain numbers from contacting you, or delve into call settings to see if the option exists.

Windows Phone

For one, you have to activate blocked calls on your phone which is easily done. When you’re in the phone app, bring up settings and you will see blocked calls as the last option.

When you have that activated, long-press any number in call history and the block option will appear.

First I hope the woman is ok.

Second I hope the truck driver is ok mentally (I’ve been there. A woman crossing a three lane carriageway in the dark in dark clothing when the driving lights were green. I still suffer the ptsd).

I hope there are drivers with dash footage.

Now for the pedant in me Journal writers. 23:30pm. Really?!!!? It’s either 11:30pm or 23:30!!!

@Jessie Ginger: No it isnt ffs. You have no idea what happened. Are you trying to tell me you never had to slam on the breaks because someone suddenly crossed the road in front of you?

I’ve said it before and Now,Unfortunately,I have to say it again.A moments lapse behind the wheel causes tragedy.Another loss, another grieving family. For the love of God! SLOW DOWN!!! Your Car is a weapon,if misused it will cause Carnage.

@The digenous: who’s to say it wasn’t a momentary lapse in concentration where she stepped out without looking? Bit presumptuous of you to assume the truck driver is at fault here just because the lady is the injured party……..
