5. #LGBT: The oldest gay bar in Ireland, Loafers in Cork, has announced its imminent closure. It first opened in 1983, a decade before homosexuality was decriminalised.

    #1. The Catholic Church are now in a very hard place.

    Mainly – because they didn’t move with the times.

    That’s the problem when you base everything on objective truth and objective morality; you can’t change because that’s admitting fallability.

    I assume that the church won’t be marrying same sex couples. So refusing to perform the civil part of the ceremony is a collective punishment. Bit like what the teachers used to do in school – except we’re supposed to be grownups!
