BRITPOP LEGENDS BLUR have been added to the line-up for this year’s Electric Picnic festival, organisers have confirmed.

There’d been speculation in recent days that the four-piece would be playing the Co Laois festival this September, as they tour in support of their Magic Whip album, which currently holds the number 1 position in both the UK and Irish charts.

And in a press release this morning, it was confirmed they would be taking to the stage at Stradbally – alongside a list of newly-announced artists.

Topping the bill, amongst the recent additions, are Sam Smyth, EP-veteran Grace Jones and New York alt-rockers Interpol.

Also added are:

FKA Twigs – Despacio – Paul Kalkbrenner – Mos Def 

Mac DeMarco - MK – Gavin James – Printer Clips

Julio Bashmore - The Riptide Movement - The 2 Bears – SOAK – Dawes 

Bejamin Clementine - Fat White Family - Honne – Kwamie Liv – Fickle Friends

Electric Picnic takes place at Stradbally Hall in Laois between 4 and 6 September. Weekend tickets cost €229.50.
