Tornado in Germany killed young man and injured his pregnant girlfriend

Widespread damage has been caused as the tornado ripped roofs from buildings and picked up cars.

A TORNADO IN Germany has killed a 26-year-old man and left his pregnant girlfriend injured.

It’s understood the man died after trees and branches were blown across roads in Hamburg, trapping people in their cars.

Witnesses say the tornado picked up cars in Buetzow and BBC reports that at least 30 people have been injured.

Roofs have been ripped from buildings, including a hospital which was partially evacuated.

Bus and train serves have also been halted, causing traffic chaos.

Winds of 119km/h were reported in Geilenkirchen.

Ahhh let’s just suspend the cynicism and take it as a nice story. Wish them well.
We have all (myself included) become so cynical about life and people that we no longer believe in happy endings outside of massage parlors.

9 hour conversation? Good Jesus. He may not like to write but he loves to talk. Or else, she’d talk the legs off a donkey.

Nice story. best of luck to them.

I thought the art of pen-pal had well died out. (Apart from amnesty asking teenagers to write to convicts)

I’m guessing you’ve never had an experience with an ex that just won’t go away? It could very easily have gone wrong!

Nah, Jonny, none of my exes ever gave me that kind of bother. Didn’t have too many of them, though, in the days before Tinder and the like. Promiscuous enough, though, and I suppose one will definitely encounter the odd bunny boiler. Good backhander, or a sound boot up the hole, should generally set them straight.

I interviewed this couple and wrote the original story for the Sunday Independent last week. Ryan credited us three times during the interview for it, but The Journal must have missed that? http://www.independent.ie/life/family/family-features/write-from-the-heart-irish-woman-marries-her-teenage-penpal-and-is-expecting-a-baby-34448565.html

It’s a lovely story, I know Siobhan. The headline could be taken that she married a teenager!
