It turns out Nigel Farage won't be resigning after all

UKIP say they’ve rejected his official resignation.

IT SEEMS AS though Nigel Farage will be staying on as UKIP leader despite announcing his resignation on Friday.

Farage had promised to resign “within ten minutes” if he didn’t get elected and, although it took a couple of hours, he appeared to make made good on that pledge after he failed to win a seat in South Thanet.

But this afternoon, UKIP’s central committee have announced that they have “unanimously rejected” his resignation.

A statement from the party reads:

As promised Nigel Farage tendered his official resignation as leader of UKIP to the NEC. This offer was unanimously rejected by the NEC members who produced overwhelmingly evidence that the UKIP membership did not want Nigel to go.

More to follow.

Whatever you think of Farage, his party got 4 million votes from something like 30 million cast i.e. well over 10%. Not bad for the relative new kids on the block.

The longer you deny people a voice the greater the level of frustration. Almost 4 million people who voted for UKIP have been ignored and there vote pointless. Whether you like them or not the voice of those who voted for them must be heard.

Personally, and admittedly completely unreasonably, I am more than happy for the voice of UKIP voters to be ignored. Purely on the basis that I totally disagree with the policies of the party the voted for. Not claiming to be right, only happy.

John – sweeping statements show a lack of understanding.
Def: a person who believes in racism, the doctrine that one’s own racial group is superior or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
I can see no reason why he should be labelled as a racist, but it can be used as a lazy label or as one to try and shut down any debate. People who warned of child sex rings in Rotherham were labelled racists too. Let’s have a debate on immigration, but have an honest one. Personally, I am the son of immigrants and have been an immigrant myself and support immigration, but understand it must be managed and controlled.

Employers are not interested in any of that, just in how much the new employee will work for and how hard they will work…..witness Irish Ferries. Basically the west is finished because we don’t have a replacement birth rate, have to have more immigrants to ensure that there are enough consumers and support for pensioners living into their 90′s etc…..whereas capital invested in other parts of the world has a far higher rate of return…..we should welcome all immigrants if we want to maintain our consumerist lifestyle……bit of a paradox really isn’t it?

Something weird went down last week in Britain .Cameron romped home and Miliband took off like he never even wanted to be there. Farage appeals to the disenchanted British Nationalist and laughed his way off the podium. The only one who looked shocked was Clegg . I didn’t trust that Miliband himself and Cameron were too pally and a posh boy shouldn’t be leader of labour the voters see right through it. Labour are just a gimic now to give the illusion of choice just like their Irish counterparts.

The policies of nigel Farage may be absolutely disastrous for both the economy and the social fabric of Britain what they did do correctly is everything to do with campaigning and playing the political game.

Farage spoke like a human being on the airbrushed televised debates and kept it simple. They also cut out the historic mess ups of both the tories and the labour party.
