Overnight there has been an unprecedented attack on [redacted] by [redacted]. Thankfully [redacted] is a matter of public record. Social media [redacted] twitter etc [redacted redacted redacted] excellent news sources.

But reports about everyday events like a car or a lorry being on fire are really important.

Irish citizens (?) do not need to know about government decisions that effect their life, or oligarchs who have substantial interests, and who have former government members on boards of directors.

It would be a good thing – both in the interest of journalist integrity and openness, if the Journal had an item in the headlines saying that it was not reporting events in the Dáil for fear of legal repercussions. Just pretending the big story of the day never happened is pretty poor.
