GARDAÍ HAVE CHARGED three men in connection with the large quantity of ketamine seized recently in Dublin and Kildare.
The three men, aged 18, 32, and 36, are due to appear before the Dublin District Court this morning. They are currently being held at Clondalkin Garda Station.
The men were arrested on Thursday following the seizure of 19 kilos in total of ketamine, worth an estimated €1.3 million.
The seizure represents the largest of this particular synthetic controlled drug in the State to date, and one of the largest this year in Europe.
Two cars were stopped in Chapelizod Village and searched by gardaí who found two kilograms of the drug, with an estimated value of €140,000.
Follow up searches in Dublin and Kildare revealed a further 17 kilograms of ketamine at a storage facility. Other drug trafficking paraphernalia were also found.
