It's warm this morning, but the rain is coming back

Ah here.

THE SHORT SUNNY spell this week will be broken in some parts of the country today, as showers hit Munster and South Leinster.

Met Éireann says that today will start fine, with temperatures climbing to between 17 and 21 degrees.

However, that will be interrupted by clouds and showers in the afternoon and early evening. There will be further showers and long periods of rain in Munster and Leinster tonight, but the rest of the country will be dry.

Tomorrow will be warmer and more humid, but there will also be heavy, thundery showers along the south coast.

Those showers will continue along the east coast tomorrow night, while the weekend will see temperatures drop to around 13 or 14 degrees with wind and rain.

The good news is that next week should be dry and sunny, with temperatures climbing to the 20s again.

Hardly a cloud in the sky today in Ulster. I should have worn my shorts this morning to go with my hippy sandles!
