THREE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE devices were discovered in north Dublin last night before being made safe by Army bomb experts.
The explosives were at an area of waste ground off Ratoath Road in Finglas, where the bomb disposal team attended after being alerted by gardaí late yesterday evening. The team arrived at 10.50pm and were able to make the devices safe. The Defence Forces confirmed that the three devices were all viable.
Army Bomb Disposal Team members then removed the devices to a military facility for forensic examination, declaring the scene safe at 11.55pm.
The three devices alone represent one-tenth of the IEDs that have been made safe so far this year. Bomb disposal teams have been called out on 166 occasions, including incidences of unstable chemicals, unexploded weapons and bomb-making materials.

Is it just me or is this happening a lot lately? or has it always been this often?
No Mike it aint just you im afraid. There seems to be a huge increase in IED’s lately if you look at Garda or Defense Forces statistics their call outs are increasing hugely. It seems to be republican or gangland related. Sad stuff really :(
