Blair Book

Signed Blair books going for over €263 on eBay

Don’t you wish you queued now?

YOU MAY have scoffed at those anxiously queuing for a signed copy of Tony Blair’s book on Saturday, but they’ve had the last laugh.

Copies of Tony Blair’s autobiography have appeared on eBay for €263.

The listing on ebay has 11 bids and the book is coyly described by the seller, electricgoodsie, as being “rare”.

“This book was purchased on Saturday 4th of September at Eason’s, O’Connell Street in Dublin ticket and flyer will come with the book as proof of the signing,” according to the description.

A limited edition of the book is also listed on eBay for £660, and a number of other copies  are also on sale on the site.

Blair gave his first and only book signing at Eason’s in Dublin last weekend, with a queue forming in the early hours of the morning.  Flip-flops and eggs were thrown at Blair by a small number of protesters, while over 700 queued in the hope of buying a signed copy of the book. But not everyone was successful.

Blair had also been due to do a private signing of books for friends of the British Ambassador to Ireland, but they too were left disappointed when he failed to make an appearance at the Ambassador’s residence in Glencairn.

The former British Prime Minister had been due to do another signing in London this week but that was cancelled on Monday amid security fears- so, in Europe at least, it’s only the Irish who can claim to own the coveted signed copies.
