Appeal for information about St Stephen's Green attack

A man is in a critical but stable condition after being assaulted by a man on Sunday.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information after a man was attacked in St Stephen’s Green on Sunday morning.

The 45-year-old man is being treated for his injuries, which are described as serious.

He was taken to Saint James’ Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

It happened at around 3:30am in Saint Stephen’s Green West.

The next day a woman was seriously assaulted in the park in a separate attack.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 6669000, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

    the city centre is just out of control, seriously something needs to be done, a start would be a bucket load more guards,

    Mick, a start would be an average number of guards, properly equipped, and 100% of judges replaced with people who live in the real world, preferably not senile.

    A start would get the homeless beggars off the street, its like Calcutta walking through the city, “spare change” is the most common phrase it the city on a Friday or Saturday night

    place is like a combination of assault on precinct 13 & the walking dead at the best of times. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful park.

    The teens – aged 16 and 17 – admitted to being drunk on alcopops and vodka at the time of the attack. They were found guilty of committing a violent disorder.Judge John O’Connor ordered the girls to write letters of apologies to the couple

    Sharon Fitzpatrick (38) blocked gardai from heading up the stairs of the pub while her partner Jason Boyle (41) told officers to “f*** off” and said they were “only p***ks”. Judge Hugh O’Donnell ordered the pair to each donate €250 to charity.
