THE FAMILY OF a young student who survived the Berkeley balcony collapse have posted pictures of her recovery.
Clodagh Cogley is recovering in a rehabilitation centre in San Francisco.
The 21-year-old suffered a broken shoulder, two collapsed lungs, a broken knee, five broken ribs and a broken spinal cord.
Last month, Cogley posted a touching message on her Facebook page saying that the tragic collapse which killed six students taught her that “life is short”.
She also mentioned in the post that the rehabilitation centre she was in had dog therapy and that can be seen in one of the photos posted by her family:
In the post Clodagh said, “The thing I’m taking from this tragedy is that life is short and I intend to honour those who died by living the happiest and most fulfilling life possible.
“Enjoy a good dance and the feeling of grass beneath your feet like it’s the last time because in this crazy world you never know when it might be.”
Clodagh’s family thanked the public for their support and generosity.
The outpouring of support for Clodagh has been truly amazing and the donations to Clodagh’s fund so generous.
A GofundMe page has raised almost €15,000 for Clodagh’s treatment.

The US is most important trading partner we have. According to the OEC Ireland exports more to the US than the next two EU countries on the list combined. Why would any Irish leader sacrifice the close ties we have with our strongest ally
