A TEXAS BUSINESSMAN used an app to find his iPhone in a rural pasture after it fell about 2,800 metres during a flight from Houston.
The Wichita Falls Times Record News reported this week that Ben Wilson says his phone still works.
Wilson says he and a pilot were traveling home Monday in a Beechcraft Bonanza when a pressure change caused the passenger door to open slightly. Wilson didn’t realize his iPhone fell out until after landing.
Wilson owns Gas Corporation of America in Wichita Falls. He and an employee used an app to narrow the search to near Jacksboro, more than 80 kilometres away.
The pair set on their search Tuesday, and ended up in a rural pasture.
They found the phone under a mesquite tree.

Brass monkeys and all that, actually, my Mom had a set of those brass monkeys and they didn’t have any to freeze lol.
@Anna Carr: the brass monkey was actually the plate on which they stacked the canon balls on Royal Navy ships. The reference to freezing the balls off them was when so much ice built up on them that the canon balls would fall of the plate/monkey.
