Woman rescued from rocks on Co Clare coast

She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

A WOMAN IN her 50s has been taken to a Limerick hospital after she slipped and hit her head on rocks.

The woman slipped on the rocks at Clahane near Liscannor in County Clare at around 4.15pm today. The woman had sustained a head injury and was unconscious when she was spotted hundreds of metres from the nearest road.

The Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard were dispatched to help paramedics recover the woman and take her to the ambulance.

The woman regained consciousness in the ambulance and the rescue helicopter which had been dispatched, was stood down.

The woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

    I fell on an icy road 2 winters ago and cut my leg badly. I also sprained my wrist. It was very sore but the people I was with all laughed.
    Maybe we could do a story on that.

    But I bet neither my accident nor that woman’s would have happened had we been wearing hi viz jackets. Let that be a warning to you!

    What sort of morons are out there..Every week someone has to be airlifted from a rock or a mountain.. because of total stupidity and lack of common sense. They should get billed by the aircore for the call out.

    I didnt realise slipping or falling was down to intelligence. I always trip going up the stairs so this news is most worrying.
