POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING claims Hollywood star Mel Gibson allegedly shoved and verbally abused an Australian photographer during an angry altercation.
Kristi Miller, a news photographer with Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, said she had taken two pictures of Gibson leaving a cinema in the city with Rosalind Ross (24) on Sunday evening when the actor aggressively confronted her.
“I took two frames and then I ran to get in front of them,” she told the newspaper.
“I turned around with my back to them and ran forward and the next thing I knew he had shoved me in the back from behind.”
Miller described the actor as “out of control” as he charged after her, spitting in her face and calling her a “dog”.
“I was just shocked that I was being pushed, shoved in the back,” she claimed.
New South Wales police said they were investigating the incident but did not specify what, if any, charges were being pursued.
“Police were told a man became involved in an altercation with a photographer. He allegedly pushed the photographer,” they said in statement to AFP.
We would urge anyone who might have witnessed the incident and is yet to speak to police to come forward.
Gibson’s management in the United States denied any physical contact between the star of Braveheart and Lethal Weapon and the photographer.
“There was no physical contact whatsoever with this photographer, who was harassing my client and his friend,” the actor’s representative, Alan Nierob, told the Telegraph in an email.

Miller alleged Gibson (59) continued to lash out at her until he was led away by an apologetic Ross.
“I thought he was going to punch me in the face,” Miller said, adding that Gibson was using offensive language.
The Oscar winner, who is in Australia to direct World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge, has not been without controversy in recent years.
In a high-profile case, he was caught on tape in 2006 making an anti-Semitic rant at a US sheriff’s deputy who had arrested him for drunken driving.

If you’re gonna photograph people all day, annoying them (then putting their picture in some shite magazine saying how bad x and y celebs look) you’re gonna catch someone on a bad day and get punched!! The photographer is an idiot!!

Paps aren’t victims. They’re antagonists who practically attack their “subjects” to get the reaction that will make them money. There’s many stories about the vile things they say to celebs, even if they have their children with them.
I’m no fan of Mel Gibson, but this time, I think he was perfectly right to react the way he did.
If I were famous I’d hire some goons to harass the papparazzis wherever they go, photographing them, following their kids to school, calling their homes at all hours, interviewing their parents, etc.

having a camera shoved in your face everytime you go out in public is going to take its toll. if your going to get in people’s face with a camera for your job you are going to have to accept some sort of back lash.
Obviously; I don’t feel for the paparazzo/legal stalker in the slightest. I’m just saying that while Mel Gibson is certainty human, he is also certainly mental.

Maybe if she asked first then he might just have said yes and she would have had her shots. Of course this way she has a story to go with it.
I’d imagine it’s an utter nightmare to be famous. Sure, the wealth and influence you enjoy is great but at the price of being deemed public property with no entitlement to privacy ever. Constantly harassed by these parasites and uber fans that follow every moment of your life. It’s fine for those deranged mediocritiys who actively seek that attention but fir people of talent in acting, music, art etc who achieve a gross level of fame far beyond their intention it must be hell.
Remember that Z list loser who found out her grannie was on the game? I don’t either but I remember the story at the time and couldn’t stop laughing. Be careful what you wish for when it comes to fame as it has a habit of biting you in the ass.
Poor Mel can’t catch a break these days. I think he’s just better off packing up and getting out of LA altogether. That racist tangent he went off on is always gonna be a monkey on his shoulder no matter where he goes but he may get a better shot at things outside of the largely Jewish owned LA studio’s. It’s a shame, he may not be the greatest actor I’ve seen but he can direct as well as anyone in Hollywood. Braveheart, Apocalypto and the Passions of the Christ beat any Michael Bay explosion fest or nauseous romcom released in recent times. He’ll probably never be able to raise the kind of money needed to make a feature film ever again, not in LA anyway. He should go back to Oz, they don’t mind a bit racism every now and then.
