It looks like these guys have chosen a name for their new €220m car show

Clarkson, Hammond and May are back behind the wheel.

IT’S NOT CERTAIN yet but it looks set that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have a name for their new TV show.

Buzzfeed reports that’s all the evidence points to the show being called ‘Gear Knobs’.

A law firm associated with Clarkson have trademarked a whole load of things with the name ‘Gear Knobs’.

These include items for TV production like graphics and sound recordings but also a range of potential merchandise including postcards, umbrellas and even household items like napkin rings.

The trio’s stint on Top Gear developed it into the BBC’s biggest earner with multiple revenue streams and Amazon seems keen to do the same.

They’re not sparing any expense either with Amazon reportedly investing €220 million for 36 episodes of the new motoring show.

Amazon have splashed out to get the three presenters to be a major draw for their Netflix rival streaming service Amazon Prime.

A service which is currently not available in Ireland and which Amazon Prime have so far given no indication of being available here.

What is with amazon’s attitude to ireland? Ok fair enough the warehouses are in the UK but they don’t even have an option for browsing in euros and have no irish website as such, just get redirected to the UK site with sterling prices. If the UK do leave the EU is it going to get worse?

Ye parcel motel is great for getting around restrictions but the exchange rates are still crappy. Such a good service generally, just a shame they won’t go that extra little bit. And also provide prime to ireland, even just in downloads and the TV service. That Nazi sci-fi thing they’ve been advertising looks class! Would love to see it.

If you use a parcel forwarding site like MyUSA you can pick up items for a fraction of the cost of the UK site and in some cases it’s actually delivered faster.

Hard to know. I used to enjoy it but found they began acting too much like kids for my liking . some of it turned ridiculous. They wanted too much money and Netflix and BT sport didn’t think it was worth what they were asking. I suppose it will depend on how many are prepared to pay to watch it . but with so many places now to watch things without paying , they best hope enough are willing to pay. Within minutes of airing it will be for free somewhere .

I get using a term may not be racist but if you are assaulting somebody at the same time it certainly is.
If you want to claim it isn’t you need to grow up and realise what you accept in your own company is not acceptable to the wider public

You can have drive and raw ambition which I believe both Clarkson and the Kardashians have bucket loads of, but I’m not too sure about intelligence. Clarkson has zero self control and in fairness you have to admit he acts like an eegit on the show and I haven’t watched much of it . It’s cringe stuff.
