TWO PEOPLE HAVE been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of Edward Gibson.
The 28-year-old was killed in west Belfast last October.
The arrests were carried out as part of a cross-border operation between the PSNI and An Garda Síochána.
Gibson, who was a father of one, was shot in the stomach on 24 October and died from his wounds in hospital the following day.
A 56-year-old woman has been arrested in Belfast and has been taken to the Musgrave station for questioning.
In the Republic, detectives in Donegal have arrested a 47-year-old man and he is currently being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
In January of this year a 61-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
Speaking about the case, Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway, said, “Although one man has been charged with Edward Gibson’s murder, this investigation is continuing. Our enquiries have led us to the Republic and we are working closely with colleagues in An Garda Síochána.”
