No one wants to buy the Obamas' former holiday home

The mansion’s multi-million dollar price tag has already been chopped.

THIS ISN’T JUST an ordinary picturesque Martha’s Vineyard estate — it has a presidential pedigree.

President Obama and his family rented this sprawling 650-square-metre mansion for an entire summer in 2013, according to The Wall Street Journal.

But that seems to not have made the house, on an island off Cape Cod in Massachusetts, any easier to sell.

Now it’ll be just a little bit cheaper to live like the First Family all year round.

The house, which listed only three months ago for $22.5 million (€19.94m) has already gotten a 15% price chop.

Sotheby’s International Real Estate has the listing.

The Wall Street Journal notes that the rural town’s seclusion was what drew the Obamas to the property.

Sitting on over nine acres of land, the home affords amazing views of Atlantic ocean.

A private driveway leads to the estate, which includes a half basketball court and a dock, and access to three private beaches.

With a 6,967-square-foot home designed by Seattle architect Rick Sundberg and landscape by Steve Stimson, the property’s interior and exterior blend seamlessly.

So how much will these “free events” cost the taxpayer. Or are TD’s paying for it out of their own pockets ? Are all the performers giving their time free.? Where does “free” come into it?

@Peter De Courcy: what are you on about ? What has this got to do with TDs ? It’s free for the public to attend which is a good use of public money if it does cost anything .

@Peter De Courcy: Its run by volunteers so yes people do give up their time but so what if it was costing the tax payer? I for one am happy for my tax to go towards people taking part in cultural events. Should we all just sit inside all day and never have any fun?
