GARDAÍ HAVE ISSUED an appeal for help in finding a man who assaulted a six-year old boy in a supermarket car park.
The boy suffered an injury to his arm which required hospital treatment, when he was knocked to the ground by the man in the daylight attack in Galway.
He was with his mother at the time. The six year old did not suffer serious injuries in the incident which happened at the Lidl outlet in Doughiska on the east of Galway city.
The incident happened last Thursday, but only came to light yesterday when gardaí issued a public appeal for help in apprehending the attacker.
The man had a grey beard and may have left the scene in an Audi car.
A garda spokesperson said that they believe the attacker may be Polish. Gardaí at Oranmore Garda station (091-388030) have appealed for information.
