A Thai university has installed a mobile phone lane Shutterstock/ponsulak

This university has a plan to stop people getting hurt because of smartphones

No more falling over your friends while texting.

A BANGKOK UNIVERSITY has opened a ‘mobile phone lane’ to accommodate students who are sick of bumping into smartphone users on their way to class.

The footpath at the city’s Kasetsart University follows an initiative proposed by students and is set to be trialled during class rush hour times.

Students using their phone to text, call or surf the web are asked to stand on one side of the lane while those walking without distractions will use the other.

The project is the brainchild of Natdanai Adisornpunkul, a third year marketing student at the university.

“As people nowadays spend so much time looking at their mobile phone screens, they could get hurt if they are unaware of their surroundings. This project will help to boost public safety, while encouraging people to adhere to traffic regulations,” he told The Nation.

The project comes with funding from competition held by motoring firm Toyota designed to put an end to on campus inconveniences for students.

If the project wins the contest, it will be recommended to the university, which would then decide if the scheme can be permanently implemented.

Imagine paying all that money, and then it doesn’t tell the right time.

@STOIC SAVAGE: Who said they owned them, being in possession of counterfeit/stolen goods is an offence ,what about all those raids where such goods are confiscated and destroyed. If they are the rightful owners they will be able to prove it,right.

Whom ever buys luxury watches must know they always look incredibly tacky and tasteless. Don’t care if you are a criminal or just massively rich expensive doesn’t mean much if you have no style or taste.

What if they got the watch as a gift?
I often wonder about the need to take luxury watches.
Obviously if bought from dodgy money that’s fair enough, but will they be sold then with the boxes and papers? Otherwise they straight away lose value and nobody will want them.
They both look fairly fake too just to note.

@Madra: if they got watches as a gift then all they have to do is prove it and get their watches back , simple as that.
