A SHOP WORKER in Derry was said to be in a state of shock yesterday evening after being threatened by a raider with a screwdriver wearing a full-face mask, commonly known as a ‘morph mask’.
It happened at around 6.30pm yesterday at a shop on Deramore Drive in the Strathfoyle area.
The woman working in the shop was forced behind the counter and told to open the till, according to police.
After grabbing some cash, the raider ran off.
Witnesses described the man as being around 6 feet tall and slim, possibly aged between 20 and 30. ”He is understood to have spoken with a local Derry accent,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
“We are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with any information. Strand Road Reactive and Organised Crime can be contacted by calling 101.”
“If someone would prefer to provide information without leaving their name they can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
The shop assistant was physically unharmed in the incident.

The incident in question, that’s a serious wallop by any standards. Ths mans arms are down by his side and he is posing no threat whatsoever.

No doubt if they do a story on it the comments will be closed as usual.. As somebody pointed out yesterday in regards to the Maria Cahill story, we’re just spoon fed pro government bullshite and any story that could damage the Government the comments are immediately closed down or the story isn’t covered at all..
