Poll: Will higher alcohol pricing change how much you drink?

New legislation aimed at helping to curb alcohol abuse will be published today.

IRELAND CURRENTLY HAS the most expensive alcohol in the EU, and it looks like it’s about to get even steeper.

The Minister for Health is set to publish the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill later today.

It’s understood it will set a floor price of €1.60 for a bottle of beer and €7.10 for a bottle of wine.

The Bill will also make it a criminal offence to advertise alcohol irresponsibly and ban advertising alcohol near schools, and enforce a watershed on TV.

So today we’re asking, do you think higher alcohol pricing will change how much you drink?

Poll Results:

No (10539)

Regulate the vulture funds mortgages with vulgar interest rates. But that will not happen because central bank governor has told government they do not that legislation. People suffer interest rates are around 8% where regulated banks are under 5%.

Helen McEntee should hand the central bank the legislation instead of pushing some other irresponsible advice on victims of these vulture funds.

Next government should bring in this legislation.

For the record this government won’t being in mortgage interest relief.

In the 26 counties you can easily get away with not paying your mortgage for 10 plus years because there is no appetite in the Courts to grant Orders for Possession and less appetite in the maim Banks to enforce them for fear of negative publicity

Don’t pay for years, don’t engage, don’t fill in financial statements, put the house up for sale then say it fell through, adjournment after adjournment to seek legal and financial advice, say you have a personal injury claim or inheritance coming, a few mickey mouse PIA applications, let on theres title issues, take plenary proceedings against the Bank, appeal to the High Court, then the Surpreme Court then go Bankrupt to avoid paying costs awarded against you.

At the end of it all you’ll get a settlement for the value of the property or go into the Mortgage to Rent scheme as a social tenant in your own home paying next to no rent for the rest of your days with an option to buy the house back after 5 years.

Meanwhile Joe soap next door is paying away like an eedjit!
