PHOTOS: These views of Dublin from above are incredible

“Seen from the edge of an open aircraft door, the city below looks breathtaking.”

A NEW BOOK will give people a view of Dublin they rarely get to see.

Dublin: The View from Above is the latest book by Dennis Horgan, who has previously photographed Cork from the sky.

p 80 Dublin Port 1 Dublin Port

It features bird’s eye views of the Docklands, the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin Zoo and several other well-known locations.

“Seen from the edge of an open aircraft door, the city below looks breathtaking.

“Flying in both helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, usually with a door removed to get clearer shots and unobstructed camera angles, I managed to capture all the iconic Dublin landmarks, from Christchurch to Dublin Castle, in a new light – many from striking angles,” Horgan said.

Alpha…take your Dublin hater attitude back to wherever you crawled out of..
    Dublin is the capital city.
The largest city in Ireland a long distance.
It has good and bad like anywhere in Ireland.
It’s the economic engine of Ireland.
It has the largest population of any region in Ireland.
If you and you fellow Anti Dublin crusaders.
Shove it where the sun don’t shine.

William Bligh was responsible for that long pier extending into Dublin Bay.
    Never heard of him?
Look at the film “Mutiny on the Bounty”.
(Historians say that Marlon Brando was a bit unfair on the real Bligh).

What’s that city centre playground like?

I remember living in Dublin and if there was a playground like that the place would stink of wee and you’d find the odd needle!

Is Dublin a changed place I wonder?

Dublin has changed so much so quickly after being stagnant & neglected for so long. Not everyone likes change & many like different styles etc. Love Dublin and all its imperfections.
