Perfumed ponces

I go to a real pub. You have your choice of 4 or 5 different pints on draught and you either like it or lump it. If you fancy a sing-song that’s ok too. If you want to dance around to the live music that’s more than welcome. If you wanna sit at the corner of the bar and prop it up for the night in peace and quiet you can do that too. And a fella can turn up in working clothes if he’s having a fast quart quart on a rainy wednesday afternoon before heading home for the spuds. . Nor do you need a fcuking menu of drinks, a bouncer, or fcuking proseco.

The barman can take 5 or 6 drinks orders at the same time and doesn’t smell like a perfume factory or worry about how he looks in the mirror half the night either.

You forgot about the toilet attendant with his exotic collection of Old Spice and Blue Stratos.

And there’s always one guy in the pub that gas Elvis sideburns but no-one really knows who he is. But he’s a friendly type. Just loves Elvis or Engelbert Humperdinck.

Heh. It just seems like there’s old man pubs and then everything else is hipster according to some.

In Pepper’s pub, aka “The Bull Mick’s”, the barman Mick “The Bull” Daly serves up a pint of slops, and won’t let the Quaaaaresss into the place……

“I fcuk arses”? Who fcuks arses? Maybe he fcuks arses! Maybe he’s written this in some moment of drunken sincerity! I’m in considerable danger here, I must get out of here at once.”

There’s one sheep out the back of Pepper’s local pub with a sign around it’s neck saying “I’m ‘feckin worn out, take me to the nearest butchers!!”

Article can relate to more people since a third of the population lives in and around Dublin. Couldn’t imagine top ten places for mulled wine in Cavan would go down too well do you? Give it time and we might have an article on Cork then I can have a moan if I just haven’t already.

You’re not missing anything Geri unless you want to drink mulled p1ss with a bunch of hipsters who pretend they’re liking it.

You never know. Could be top ten fields to enjoy mulled wine in!

So you take cheap wine, bring it to near boiling, throw half a spice rack in along with whatever’s in the fruit bowl, then to add insult to injury you tell us it’s a “happening” drink and charge a fortune for it……. Thanks but no thanks…
