Top policeman to be caned and jailed for raping a 13-year-old girl

The former anti-vice officer was sentenced to 100 years in jail and 15 strokes of the cane.

A HIGH-RANKING Malaysian policeman has been sentenced to 100 years in jail and 15 strokes of the cane for raping a 13-year-old girl in a hotel.

Deputy Superintendent Rohaizat Abdul Ani, a former anti-vice officer, was found guilty of raping the girl four times and of sodomising her over a two-day period in 2012, media reports said.

“He should be a guardian to the public, not otherwise,” deputy public prosecutor Azeezi Nordin was quoted as saying by the Malay Mail Online news portal.

The accused “never considered the victim’s age, emotions and consequences of his action in the eyes of the law”, he told the court in Kota Kinabalu, capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah on Borneo island.

The offences were committed at a hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

With some of the sentences running consecutively, Rohaizat will  technically have to serve 80 years in prison.

The 54-year-old, who is expected to appeal the ruling, was accompanied by his wife. Neither showed any emotion in court, the reports said.

Now that’s what you call a sentence! None of the light touch suspended sentence the judiciary hand out over here!

But you or I will face life imprisonment in a human cesspit or even execution if caught with a few joints at a Malaysian airport – their priorities are seriously skewed methinks.

I don’t get this one: You know about this, many people do. The Malaysian authorities are not making a secret of it. Drug smugglers certainly know about it. Entering Malaysia but train/bus/boat or plane you are immediately presented with large signs, in many languages, telling you that the country has a policy of executing drug smugglers. So why the f*ck would you bring a few joints or anything else into or out of Malaysia? If I saw a sign above a guard dog that said ‘beware, Rover here has a tendency to tear the throat out of strangers’ I wouldn’t waltz up to him and try to tickle his belly because my dog at home likes it.

Yes, it is a muslim major country. though the law secular in nature, there is separate shariah court. But in this case it just carried (and convicted) at civil court.

You are referring mainly to conservative oppressive Muslim governments mainly situated in the Middle East, who are not secular and indoctrinate Islamic ideology into law i.e their legal system and courts.

However, all Muslim countries are not all the same. Some Muslim countries are quite progressive, even more so than the US or Ireland with women presidents and heads of state.

Malaysia is a well ran Muslim country. It even has women in government. Don’t let the media dictate how you think about Muslim people it’s all fear tactics an garbage to get support for a false war on terror. Isis and the talliban were funded and created by yes the u.s.a who are effectively the root cause of alot of the worlds problems.

The US did not find and create ISIS not the Taliban. You show only ignorance with that statement.

The US created the perfect environment for ISIS to thrive, but it’s extremist version of Salafists had already been in the making long before the US even invaded Iraq.

Apologies for my autocorrect dilemma, I meant the US did not create or directly fund ISIS nor the Taliban, it did however fund other militant groups of which many members defected to the Taliban or ISIS. The situation is far more complex than A vs B.

I need to get a life.

But you say it like they deserve a pat on the back for being a well run Muslim country. They all should be. Its pretty standard to evolve and grow. Imposing religion into law is insane. I realise Malaysia isn’t as backwards as Saudi and thats great but the reason people assumed the Woman/Girl would have been prosecuted is testament to how, in general, the Islamic influence into law is cruel and unforgiving.

I say it to cut through the ignorance toward the stereotyping of ‘all Muslims are the same’. They most defiantly are not.

I’m sick of the stereotyping, it’s ill informed and stupidity at its finest. Saudi Arabia has an oppressive Government that uses Islam to enforce its own idealistic agenda. This is not a representation of the Muslim Faith. It’s not what all Muslims want. It’s like comparing the views of the Vatican to all Christian and Christian nations. It’s simply not true nor should be used as an example, ever.
