Twitter really isn't messing around with its restructuring plans

Four of its top executives are now leaving the company as the company tries to reverse its fortunes.

TWITTER ANNOUNCED ANOTHER major shakeup in an attempt to stop losses and get more people using the service.

Four of the company’s top executives have left the company as part of a major restructure organised by its CEO Jack Dorsey.

Dorsey announced the changes in a tweet, saying he wanted to “set the record straight now”.

Those leaving are engineering head Alex Roetter, human resources head Skip Schipper, media head Katie Stanton, and product head Kevin Weil. Dorsey said that all of the departures were voluntary.

A fifth member, Vine’s head Jason Toff, is also leaving the company and returning to Google where he will work on developing its VR products.

As part of the change, the sections left vacant will now be managed by the company’s COO (Chief Operating Officer) Adam Bain and CTO (Chief Technical Officer) Adam Messinger.

As part of the change, The New York Times says it plans to appoint new board members and a “high-profile media personality” as one of its new directors.

It’s the latest change as Dorsey continues a company-wide overhaul which started late last year. Back in October, it announced that 8% or 336 employees from its global staff would be laid off.

At the time, Dorsey said the restructure was to “help put our company on a stronger path” and the company would improve with “a more purpose-built team, which will continue to build strength over time.”

God rest him and condolences to his poor mother and brothers. He put up a great battle and raised great awareness of the MND on his challenge walk down through the country from Donegal to Cork last sumner. His book is a must read too.

@Finnster1977: he was indeed a very special person. He was chaplain in my secondary school back when I was a young person and everyone liked him. Very supportive and didn’t shove God down our throats. To remember someone’s supportive words in your own hour of need or in a tough time as an adult is the mark of a truly altruistic person. Onwards to the ‘big gig in the outer-verse’ Fr Tony. RIP

Tragic end for a lovely man. However I do hate to see funds raised for research by ordinary taxpayers. These medical and pharma companies are multibillion companies. They don’t need the money.

@Kath Noonan: the research is a Trinity College project led by Prof. Orla Hardiman, not a big pharma job.

He was my Chaplin in the ballymun comprehensive school. Very nice man. He was a super young priest probably only 30. Sad to hear R.I.P father Tony.
