PHOTOS OF A young boy being rescued by aid workers in Nigeria are going viral.
Anja Ringgren Loven, the Danish founder of the African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation, shared the images online.
The two-year-old boy, who has been named Hope, had reportedly been wandering the streets for months after his family abandoned him because they thought he was a witch.
In a Facebook post, Loven wrote:
I have spared you many experiences when we’ve been on the rescue operations. Thousands of children are being accused of being witches and we’ve seen torture of children, dead children and frightened children. This footage shows why I fight. Why I sold everything I own. Why I’m moving out in uncharted territory.
In a later blog post, Loven wrote that Hope is eating by himself and responding to medicine.
“He’s a strong little boy. To see him sit and play with my own son is without doubt the greatest experience of my life! I just don’t know how to describe it in words.”
Since the photos were published, one million Danish Krone (about €134,000) has been raised for the boy’s medical care.

The elephant in the room when it comes to Covid19 deaths is he was a lifetime smoker, which is an underlying condition. RIP.

@Jazz Buckler: I’m sure the virus might not care if it’s a condition or not. Alcoholism is a disease, Smoking is also a disease.. whatever way it’s spun that it’s a human right or something like that. it’s a condition and a reason why so many young people are dead in Italy and Spain.
I thought 2016 was bad for artists dying this is going to blow that out of the water.
