Snow-ice warning issued for tonight

Expect a very cold night with some frost and icy patches.

A SNOW-ICE WARNING has been issued for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.

Met Éireann is warning of sleet and snow showers, with the possibly of between 1 and 3 cm.

It added that parts of Ulster and Leinster are most at risk later tonight.

The status yellow warning will come into place just after midnight and remain until 10am tomorrow morning.

    Would be a lot less work just to report the sunny days, all other days we can just expect the usual, sh@@t weather

    Well it’s snowin is shhhligo, so ye might want to add it to the list. shhnowball fight at my gaff (I have road frontage) in 10 minutes…all welcome, bring snacks.

    The council here in Waterford are out gritting the roads.
    Must be expecting severe frost or snow.

    Well Oran. That’s good enough for me. It’s true if they start throwing that white gold on the streets. Our councils don’t part with that on a whim. Think I’ll put on the snow tyres tonight. #prayforleinsterandcavan

    If the projected road temp is to hit -1 the council are obliged to salt the roads as per it’s winter plan Oran.

    Listen ya clown …they grit the roads when it gets to freezing not because its just severe or possibilty of snow

    @Michael Sign on the top of my road simply reads “May be impassable in winter months” €100 sign saves €10,000′s in grit.
