Dean Strang and Jerry Buting are coming to Ireland to do public interviews

Obsessed with the Steven Avery case? Now’s your chance to hear more.

Updated 7.30am 24 March

MAKING A MURDERER’S Dean Strang and Jerry Buting are on their way to Ireland this autumn for a number of public appearances.

It was announced yesterday that Strang was on the way – and now it has been confirmed that he will be joined by his former colleague Jerry Buting for a three-date tour.

They will visit Cork Opera House (22 September), Dublin’s Vicar Street (24 September) and Galway’s Black Box (25 September) to take part in public interviews about the court case that made them famous… and perhaps they’ll be asked about being heartthrobs too.

Wisconsin attorneys Strang and Buting represented Steven Avery after he was accused of the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach.

The Netflix documentary about Avery’s trial – which took place just a few years after he had been released after being jailed for a crime he didn’t commit – became a huge phenomenon last year, leading to fame for Strang and Buting.

Cork Opera House said:

Strang will participate in a moderated discussion regarding the systemic failures of the criminal justice system, as well as the broader implications of the Steven Avery case.

Tickets for the Cork show cost €32; tickets for the Black Box event cost €35, and tickets for the Vicar St show cost €36.50 (including booking free).

The tickets for all three venues go on sale from 9am on 31 March. Be aware that in some cases, booking fees may apply.

Imagine giving up a career in Congress to become the top toadie to the biggest failure in the history of the Executive branch during a historically miserable era, just so you can stand next to him as he loses re-election and then, when you’re rolling on the floor, you get the covid kick to the nuts. SO. MUCH. WINNING.
