HOUSE PARTIES ARE being busily planned in towns and cities across the country today, in light of the annual Good Friday pub shut-down.
A 1927 law dictates alcohol cannot be sold on the Friday before Easter – and as usual, there were queues forming at off-licences and supermarkets in Dublin last night as people stocked up ‘just in case’. Some were leaving the shops laden down with cans and bottles, others simply clutched a single bottle of Pinot Grigio.
So what do Dubliners and visitors to Ireland make of the Good Friday ban? Is it time to scrap the near-90-year-old law, or do people secretly enjoy the novelty of a pub-free day?

This is another white wash job . This country could not organise a p**s up in a brewery….
Nothing works .There is no joined up thinking in any services to assist the carers at home or even
semi cared for people. If they say they will do something often enough then begin to believe their own propaganda.
