GOVERNMENT CHIEF WHIP Paul Kehoe has said there is no rift within Fine Gael following the party’s poor performances in the Dublin West by-election and presidential election.
“Let me say there is no crisis within Fine Gael or within the Government,” he said in a radio interview this morning.
Today FM reports that the Fine Gael TD said there was “extreme disappointment” within the party about Gay Mitchell’s 6.4 per cent vote. However, he did not go as far as saying that the MEP was the wrong candidate to run.
Commenting on reports that some people within the party were angry at Mitchell’s decision to stay away from Dublin Castle for the formal declaration of Michael D Higgins’s presidency, Kehoe said that he believed the candidate should have been present.
“If I had been in Gay’s shoes, I would have turned up,” he said but added that it was a personal choice.
Commenting on last Thursday’s elections and referendums he said “lessons were learned” but the party will now “move on”.

Don’t have an iPhone but have my phone set to the lowest setting due to photophobia after a papercut to the eyeball. Sometimes when it kicks up stink I have to wear sunglasses looking at the phone.

No, in Android it’s in settings… pretty obvious. Another Apple over complication of a basic function.

Screen brightness is in settings on an iphone too and its not over complicated. It says ‘display and brightness’ did you check before you commented?
Even simpler to swipe up from bottom and adjust the brightness slider

I like the tip. Did it on the iPad. Instructions could be better. Just sayin.
I don’t get it… Swipe up, move brightness to the left, job done. I can barely see it when it’s all the way to the left. Just what does this complicated method do that the brightness adjuster doesn’t? I can’t be arsed going through all that to check.
Hidden depths!
Using this feature ages and it really is very useful darkens the screen much lower than the standard brightness setting allows makes reading at night much better. And it’s handy just triple clicking when you need to lower the light for whatever reason in cinema etc.
